ZipGrade: The Grading App for Multiple-Choice Tests and Quizzes
ZipGrade is a free app designed to help teachers grade multiple-choice tests, quizzes, and assessments instantly using their Android device's camera as a grading scanner. With ZipGrade, grading becomes effortless while capturing, storing, and reporting useful data on assessments. Teachers no longer have to wait for the Scantron machine or sheet-fed scanner to grade papers quickly.
The app offers several features to customize ZipGrade to meet different classroom needs. Students receive immediate feedback and can see their score on a test as soon as they finish. Teachers can have all of their multiple-choice grading done before the next class starts.
ZipGrade works without internet connectivity and uses student ID numbers or written names of students for reporting. The app knows when a paper is in the viewfinder and sufficiently in focus to grade, with no buttons to press while grading. Students may use pen or pencil, and the app handles erasures and white-out well. Combination answers of up to three letters allow for up to 31 answers for each question, making it great for matching portions.
